Purifiers for Portable Power:

Hy9 has designed and built a range of products to serve the needs of commercial and military markets for portable power, ranging in size from 20 watts up to 1 kW in output as determined by the steady state rated capacity of the electricity generated. These systems are designed to be small, efficient, lightweight and rugged, to achieve high performance required in portable power applications. Hy9 sells designs and builds purifiers, as well as integrated reformer/purifiers to reliably produce high purity hydrogen.

The applications for which Hy9’s systems include military and commercial applications. Military applications for portable power include soldier power, battery recharging, unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned mine sweepers, and on-vehicle auxiliary power among other applications. Weight – Hy9’s portable power system designs are optimized from a weight perspective, which contributes to portability and lower mass for faster start-up times

Start-up – Hy9’s systems enable faster start-up times because of lower mass and the ability to withstand higher temperatures for faster temperature ramp up

Temperature – Hy9’s portable systems are designed to operate in temperatures from
300°C to 400°C

Purity – Hy9’s portable systems produce hydrogen with purity of 99.99999% or higher

Form Factor – Hy9 designs portable systems are able to be contoured to meet customers’ specific form factor requirements

Durability – Hy9’s portable systems are designed to operate over long periods of time without any degradation in output or performance

Pressure – Hy9’s portable purifiers operate with inlet pressures of up to 250 pounds per square inch, depending specific requirements

Purifier Feed – Hy9’s portable purifiers are deigned to work with a wide variety of hydrogen sources and reformates, including methanol, chemical hydrides and energetic materials.

Reformer Fuels – Hy9’s portable reformer/purifiers are designed to operate with methanol fuel

Reformer/Purifiers for Portable Power

Hy9 offers customers combined reformer/purifiers for light weight portable power applications, with a unique, scalable and self contained methanol reformer/purifier designed to generate hydrogen beginning at 20 watts continuous output. These micro power systems have higher performance attributes than battery systems, and enable long duration, fuel based clean electricity production, far surpassing the capabilities of battery-based portable power systems.
