Hy9’s purifiers are also being designed for transportation markets, including forklifts, auxiliary power units, fuel cell vehicles and hydrogen generation for refueling. Hy9’s purifiers, with small footprints, light weight designs, and durability lend themselves to applications in the transportation market.

Forklift Purifiers

Hydrogen-based fork lifts provide a compelling alternative to battery powered fork lifts from an economic perspective, eliminating the downtime, facilities and labor requirements associated with battery recharging. Powering forklifts with PEM fuel cells requires cost effective and convenient sources of hydrogen, such as natural gas, diesel or methanol fuel processing. Hy9’s purifiers can be used to purify reformate streams from these feed stocks, either in hydrogen refueling configurations or for on-board diesel and methanol reformation.

Auxiliary Power Unit Purifiers

Hy9’s purifiers can also be used in PEM fuel cell based auxiliary power units in a wide variety of applications for clean, quiet and efficient power generation. APUs are used in a wide variety of applications, including military, commercial and consumer markets, including marine APUs for “hotel power”; cooling systems for refrigerated trucking; power generators for “hotel power” and engine idle reduction on eighteen wheeler cabs; and vehicle-mounted power generators for tanks and other military vehicles.

Automotive Purifiers

Hy9 has designed purifiers for automotive applications, including purifying reformate from on-board reformate systems for PEM fuel cells.

Hydrogen Generators for Refueling

Hy9 also has designed and built steam methane reformers for generating high purity hydrogen from natural gas for vehicle refueling applications.
